Before the all-red Irish Setter, the red and white dog was a fixture of Ireland's hills and bogs since at least the 1600s.
When nets gave way to firearms, setter lines adapted the crouching style of hunting.
Height 24.5-26 inches (male), 22.5-24 inches (female). Weight 42-60 pounds (male), 35-50 pounds (female).
